Thing 13

Using technology in the classroom is much easier to do than I realized .  In the past I have used the excuse that I did not have enough resources  or my student would not catch on fast enough or would not use it.  Once I watched A Day In Room 9 all those ideas have were shot to zero. The teacher in New Zeland took three computers and 24 students  and maximized all the technology resources at her disposal to create a very Hi- Tech classroom for 6 and 7 year old students. Using technology for handwriting practice was really a surprise for a use of technology.  I do not have a White board and up until watching the video did not know what it was.  I do have a presentation station so there are things that  can be done with the tools that I have.  The use of technology is really driven by the class room teacher and the teachers ability to be creative with what is available. The presentation has made me realize that if I choose to  make my classroom a technical learning center I can and that I have to rethink my excuses for not doing so and as the NIKE ad says “Just Do It”.
